Busy Weekend on the Diamond

It was a busy two days for the Mount Union Little League this weekend.

On Friday, the Curve used a huge 10-run first inning to propel them to a 14-4 5 inning win over the Twins (3-2). Klayton Willoughby earned the win, with Jared Covert suffering the loss.

Saturday's action started with a first place showdown in the Minor Division. The Red Sox (5-1) scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to squeeze out an 8-7 win over the Curve (5-1). Brecken Rogers earned the victory. Zach Baird suffered the loss for the Curve.

The Yankees (3-3) used a 10-run inning of their own to overcome the Dodgers (1-4) 14-8. Trey Heffelfinger earned the victory, with the loss being tagged to Ryder Hileman.

The Reds (10-0) survived their second straight scare, topping the Pirates (5-5) 6-5. Braxdyn Landrum smacked the game winning homerun for the Reds. Cole Ramsey got the win, with Tyler Boozel earning the save for the Reds. Ethan Carbaugh suffered the loss for the Pirates.

The Phillies (6-4) stopped the Dodgers (1-9) from rallying in the 6th inning to earn a 5-3 victory. Wyatt Booher hit his league leading 4th homerun of the season. Jamal Inch went the distance in the victory. Brooks Walker was the hard-luck loser for the Dodgers.

The Mets (7-3) remained the hottest team in the league with an 11-0 win in 5 innings over the Indians (2-7). Dylan Gearhart was nearly perfect in the win for the Mets. Dylan Nonemaker suffered the defeat for the Indians.
